My Bio
I started my model making pretty young, on long car journeys to visit my gradparents in Newcastle. Dad always used to by us sweets for the journey- more often than not a big bag of Starburst (then Opal Fruits) which I was not especially fond of. I used to spend my time squishing up the sweets and using them to make little models of food before I would eat them. I moved on to Fimo when it first started to become available in the UK and I got a kids Fimo jewellery kit for Christmas one year. I never bothered much with the jewellery designs in the accompanying brochure but instead started making little figures (generally of women with large breasts for some reason...French Maids in particular!?!) although over time this fizzled out somewhat..probably due to too much schoolwork and that kind of thing.
Despite this I always held onto my love for creating and ended up doing a degree in Illustration at Loughborough University, where right at the end of the first year we were set a character development project which culminated in making a model of our developed character. After realising those little figures I used to make as a child could be developed into a credible art form I found that from that point onwards I seemed to be only able to think in 3D when set a brief.
It has been quite some time since I graduated from University, and so far I have not managed to acheive anything much artistically although I've made a few personal acheivements (husband and daughter being the absolute centre of my universe!) but I'm still trying to get there with the artwork, doing little bits when I find the time, and hoping I eventually get brave enough to go out into the wild world and start showing people what I do in the hope they might like to publish it...and if it never happens I will still always love bringing those strange and magical characters in my head to life.

The time has come! Finally, I've got all of the business stuff, all of the sensible reading up on stuff, and a fair bit of the making stuff out of the way, and am very pleased to announce that I have just put my very first listing on my brand new Etsy store! Yay! I can be found trading as Mythillogical- Myths & Fabrications here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/Mythillogical Presently, there is literally only one listing (I read somewhere it's best to put listings up slowly and steadily) but there will be more items added over the coming days. I also got my backside in gear and set up a facebook page for my business too, which is here: http://ww

I thought I'd let you know about the Circle of Love Hand-crafted Give-away- The basic idea is that craft bloggers can join in and donate an item for people to win, they blog about it and there are all sorts of different ways that anyone can enter from following one of the participating blogs, following facebook pages, following on twitter, blogging about the Circle of Love and all sorts of other ways to spread the love! Once the winner is drawn they win not one, but all of the donated crafty lovelies! There are terms and conditions and unfortunately only UK and EU residents can enter the competition (it's to do with UK insurance laws, not

...not those briefs, obviously! I've started a new page on my blog for 'audience participation'. Basically if you would like to join in you just give me a brief to answer- it can be as specific or loose as you like, and if I think I can do something with it I will answer it, blog about the whole working process, and link to your blog/deviantart page/website as a thank you for your involvement. More details can be found here: http://mythillogical.blogspot.com/p/show-us-your-briefs.html Anyone is welcome to put a suggestion forward! Please come and challenge me!
